Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that it ranked No. 10 on Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Most Responsible Companies, up seven places from 2024. This marks Agilent’s sixth consecutive year on the prestigious list, which recognizes 600 U.S.-based companies for their commitment to making a positive global impact. Agilent also ranked No. 3 among healthcare and life-science companies, up from No. 5.
To formulate the rankings, Newsweek and business intelligence firm Statista, Inc. reviewed corporate social responsibility and financial reports, analyzed quantitative data, and surveyed 26,000 U.S. participants on perceptions of ESG practices. They examined metrics on emissions, energy use, waste, water use, equality, philanthropic giving, disclosure and transparency, and economic performance, among others.
Agilent has reported on its environmental and community impact activities for over 20 years. The company’s 2023 ESG report, “Advancing Great Science with Sustainable Solutions,” showcases the progress the company has made in several critical areas, and why scientists around the world continue to rate us highly on sustainability.
As a leading sustainable lab partner, the company reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 8% since 2019 — even as revenue grew 30%. The company also refurbished 5,400 instruments, a 25% increase, is recognized as a top employer for women, and increased volunteerism in our communities by 55%.
The Newsweek ranking adds to other recent recognition of Agilent, including Fortune’s List of Best Workplaces in the World, Forbes List of America’s Best Companies to Work For and Invest in 2025, Time Magazine’s 500 Most Sustainable Companies in the World, and Barron’s List of 100 Most Sustainable Companies.
